In a vibratory feeder, if the vibration gap between the iron core and the armature of the exciter becomes blocked, the following fault symptoms will appear: During operation, the built-in electromagnetic feeder inside the vibrator may cause the feeder’s power switch to trip. After re-energizing the feeder, you’ll notice the fuse heating up, the current exceeding the rated value, and the fuse blowing within a short period of time. Upon inspecting the feeder’s control system, you’ll find that the contactor engages normally, yet the power switch still trips frequently, and the amplitude of the vibratory feeder when operating is virtually zero. Fault Analysis: Based on the observed symptoms, the primary cause is that material has entered the interior of the exciter, completely blocking the vibration gap. If you open the sealing cover for inspection, you’ll find that the silicone rubber seal has been damaged. Sometimes, damage to the exciter’s cooling hose can also lead to this issue. Leakage from the outer casing of the vibratory feeder: The built-in vibratory feeder in the vibrator has numerous sealing bolts on its housing, making it particularly difficult to ensure a tight seal after disassembly and maintenance. Recommended solution: Generally, tightening the bolts and adjusting the pressure at the discharge point can resolve the issue. Motor-driven vibratory feeder Damaged exciter bearings: During operation, the exciter bearings may start smoking and turn red. This is due to the eccentric weight continuously impacting the bearings as it rotates, combined with poor working conditions on-site, which significantly shortens the bearing’s service life compared to its normal lifespan. Recommended solution: We suggest using high-quality or imported bearings to extend their service life. Additionally, proper lubrication of the bearings is crucial; regular lubrication should be enhanced, or an automatic lubrication system should be installed.
